Book Cover design & sketches
I wanted a modern looking bookcover, something that an 8-year-old me would have liked to read.
"Emocje i Ja" means "Emotions and I" and the concept is that the girl is trying to understand her emotions and learn how to apply emotion regulation skills that are mentioned in the book.
Inside illustrations
Here is a scene, where the main character is so upset, that she tears off her mascot's arm.
Later she sulks, as she learns that it is not appropriate to destroy things just because she is upset. Later on, she learns other coping skills and learns how to fix the bear by herself (a lesson on natural consequences)
Character sheet
Main character design. I wanted her to look like an average child, with colorful clothing, chubby little arms and cheeks with a cute bow.
What interested me most was how much I could push this simple design to show different emotions.
